The 1200CMI Series of Inverted Microscopes are well suited for observing specimens or biological cultures within well plates, Petri dishes or vials. The 1200CMI Series includes Brightfield and Phase Contrast models. Both models have trinocular (Seidentopf) viewing heads that incline at 30 and rotate a full 360, and both models feature dioptric adjustment (-5 to +5) and interpupillary adjustment (55 to 75mm). The trinocular head features a sliding main prism (100/100 split), providing 100% of the image to the vertical tube, or 100% of the image to the eyepieces. Eyepiece magnification is 10X Widefield (DIN) with a field number of 18. The quadruple, ball-bearing nosepiece has high-grade lubricant and positive stops.

Both models have plan achromatic objectives. Objectives are made to DIN standards and are coated. The durable 5.9 x 7.9 (150 x 200mm) stage delivers a high level of fluid motion control and features a right-hand, low-position coaxial control. Two stage inserts are included, one for a standard 1x 3 slide and one for petri dishes or similar vials. Low-position coaxial coarse and fine focus controls are graduated to two microns per division and feature a 40mm focusing range, tension adjustment and safety autostop.

Brightfield model comes with a 0.40 N.A. condenser. Phase Contrast model comes with a 0.40 N.A. Zernike condenser with phase annulus rings for 10X, 25X and 40X, plus a 0 setting for brightfield work. All condensers feature spring-loaded centering knobs, an iris diaphragm and a swing-in filter holder. Condensers are mounted on a rack-and-pinion focusing mechanism. Illumination is provided by a 20W variable quartz halogen light source. Blue, green (Phase Contrast model only) and neutral density filters are included. The quadruple (Brightfield) or quintuple (Phase Contrast), ball-bearing nosepiece has high-grade lubricant and positive stops, and is reversed (inward-facing) for easier slide manipulation and to help keep objectives clean.

Brightfield models have achromatic or plan achromatic objectives. Phase Contrast models have plan achromatic objectives. All objectives are made to DIN standards and are coated. The LED Ring Illuminator produces intense white light for long microscopy observation sessions. The 144 LED intensity direction adjustable ring light has a mounting size up to 2-1/2" (64mm) in diameter. The light ring is consisted of 4 individual portions (4 lighting zones) that can be turned on/off separately.
